An update from Meemah...

Good morning everyone, this is Jenn's mom, otherwise known as Meemah. Just to give a little update on our little miracle, Owen. He is doing well. Our little buddy had a good night. The nurses say he is very "feisty". They told papa & I yesterday that he would need footie pj's because he moves his hands & feet so much.  :) They just get him in a cozy position & he moves to  the position "he" wants to be in. He is constantly flipping his little legs over the end of his bumper. He also puts both arms up & by his head & crosses his legs. His "big" cousin Kaizen has had this pose since he was a newborn.

Yesterday morning he got to ditch his "cool dude shades" & bili blanket. His bilirubin counts were where they needed to be. Small steps in the right direction. It was also a good morning because he "pooped". Who would have ever thought that we would be excited about"poop"??.  He did it two times. Yea!! I told mommy & daddy that in a few months they won't be so excited about "poop". Funny the things that make you happy. This means that thing are moving thru him though.

Owen is also sucking on a miniature pacifier. He amazed me when it popped out of his mouth & he was able to get it back in by himself. He is so tiny but so perfect!

He has lots of soft blonde hair. I think he looks like his daddy.

Please keep Owen, Jenn, & Vince in your prayers. We so believe they are keeping him safe & strong.

Life is what happens while we are busy making plans...

Life is what happens while we are busy making plans...

This statement couldn't be more true for us, given everything that has happened in the last 48 hours.  Back in December when Vince and I found out we were expecting, I created this blog so we could update our families back home on our pregnancy.  One post later, it is obvious that we got so tied up in our day to day lives that we never got around to updating the blog.

Here we are now, on May 29th, sharing with you our exciting, yet unexpected news.  The most beautiful gift God could have ever given to us arrived on May 26th, at 4:37 p.m.  Owen Vincent Jamison was born, weighing 2 lbs, 9.4 oz.  Because he was born at only 28 weeks, he was immediately transferred to a nearby hospital with a level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  Owen is a fiesty little fighter.  He will be staying in the NICU for quite a while and would definitely love it if you would keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Vince and I cannot express just how much all of your support means.  We so sincerely appreciate the phone calls, the texts, and the offers to help.  If you reach out to us and we do not get back to you right away, please know that you have not gone unnoticed.  We are trying to keep up with everything as best we can, and it will become easier with each day that passes, as we establish our new normal.  For now, we will try and post regular updates, pictures, and videos so that you can see just how amazing Owen is.

Thank you again for keeping us in your prayers...for now we are off to spend some time with our precious 'little warrior'.

xoxo,
The Jamisons
